Come into the hotel and discover the origins of Rue de l’Université.
The “chemin des Treilles” was one of the alleys of Reine Margot’s garden and became the “Rue de l’Université” in the 17th century. This quarter of Saint Germain des Pres was fist inhabited by Dominican, Carmelite and Visitation convents
In 1685, the building of Pont Royal shortened the way between the two banks of the Seine River and caused a considerable development of this part of the city. In the 18th century, during the Regence, the place fulfilled its development and became the centre of elegance and good taste.
When entering the hotel, begin your trip through time, art and history
Here at the hotel, the reception area, the lounges and the crypt get ancient furniture. The hotel itself offers a delightful antique decor with vaulted ceilings, oak pillars, magnificent staircases and fireplaces which all recall the Benedictin convent it used to be. A surprising collection of antiques, knick-knacks, armchairs and sofas put the finishing touch

Paris offers a number of interesting itineraries for strollers. You can follow the waterways (river Seine, St Martin Canal, river Bièvre) or the 17-km long railway transformed into a most surprising walkway hung some 50 feet above the hustle-bustle of the city. You can also spend some quality time in any of the large public parks which the city counts (Luxembourg, Buttes-Chaumont, Montsouris, Georges Brassens), discover the gardens of the 14th district, or else decide to learn live history and architecture in areas like St-Sulpice and St Germain-des-Prés.
